Video: A dramatic few hours on CAMPER

Video update of a dramatic few hours aboard CAMPER as bowman Mike Pammenter suffers moderate facial injuries when washed into the shrouds by a wave. Some good work from medics Trae and Stu however ensures that Mike is on the road to recovery.

  1. To the Blacks in Red – the wind has not favoured you guys on this leg at all – up until now. Let’s hope it stays this way. Bad luck with the fat lip as well, but at least he didn’t damage the shrouds. That would have been the pits.

Good luck from a Kiwi currently cruising the Med. I follow you guys on sail-world.com every single day. And I am talking years, not weeks!

In fact in days of yor when this race was the Whitbread and I was living in London, I called up Portsmouth for the Lat and Long of all boats, then logged them on a map of the world.

  2. Dalts has warned about how keen Trae is to use his needles….
Good thing hat Mike had his helmet on and the injury was not
any worse, it could have easily been really bad…..

-and very good thing, Trae is really skilled with the needle….!!!
and stil does not need glasses to do the work, like other men of his age….LoL

    Get well Mike !!!

    Take Care.

  3. Well done Trae, you should have been a doctor. More money but less fun. Good luck with the recovery Mike.
