Only five points off the pace at Singapore

Dean Barker, Chris Draper and Roman Hagara meet the fans at Singapore….

“It felt like a tough day at the office but coming ashore we found ourselves only five points off the lead, although now sitting in third overall” – Dean Barker sums up Day 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series regatta at Singapore.

“Conditions again were very testing and it didn’t feel as though we read the day well. We missed a few opportunities and gave up a few points in a couple of races which is always frustrating.”

The wind was unstable in both pressure and direction – and lightning-packed thunderstorms suspended racing again. But action on the water was still intense. Five races produced five different winners.

“The outlook for the remaining two days is for much of the same. We have an early start tomorrow so that may present a new set of conditions to try to understand.”

After racing Dean Barker and skippers Chris Draper and Roman Hagara spoke about how they began their yacht racing careers. The world class and Olympic sailors had a captive audience of around 80 spectators which also included some young sailing fans.
